  1. At C2/36th Inf Feb 81 to Jun 82 then HHC2/36th from then to Jan 84, was the first right barracks at the curve beside the Library and Rec center, could just about reach out and touch the farmer herding his sheep just outside the fence. A common sight on that side of the Rock. The construction on the new barracks behind the Rec center must of started as soon as I left, we used that field when the whole Battalion had PT together, never thought for a minute that the Rock would cease to exist. Hard to believe that I arrived there 33 years ago and left 30 years ago. Of my three years there about a year and half were proable the best of my nine years of service.

  2. I was in CSC 2-36, Nov 1978 to May 1981.

Worked in Commo, a 11b in a 31V slot, eventually picked up 31v as my official secondary.

When I first saw the “Rock” I thought they had made a mistake and were taking me to a prison. I could not believe such a decrepit looking place was a military base.
But after a while I loved it and loved Germany.
