Ayers Kaserne
Do you remember training at Grofonwoehr and Hohenfels? I do! I was there when it was HOT! We went from one training area to the next and the exercise lasted over 45 days.

Ayers Kaserne 2005
Ayers Kaserne is no longer an active post. Here is one of many videos that lets you see what has happened. This is a German video of some of the site work being done to reuse the property.

The Rock - Ayers Kaserne
I have a personal blog and one of the most visited pages on that site is a post I wrote about my time at Ayers Kaserne, better know to those who lived there as "The Rock". I was attached to C Company 2nd Battalion, 36th Infantry. We were part of the 3rd Armored Division. I was at the Rock from 1983 through August of 1985.
I recently had the chance to connect with some Army buddies from my unit and I know that there are many more out there who would like to do the same. I hope that over time, this site is a way to help others find old friends. We shared some trying yet incredible times together while stationed in Germany. We served during the tense final years of the Cold War and I think that like me, you probably remember the fun you had with friends more than early morning alerts and digging foxholes.
I'd like to share this site with others. If you have a story to tell or a topic you'd like to see, please contact me. Send pictures and copies of memorabilia as well.
